Our Vision

We envision healthy, stable, and hunger-free communities where everyone thrives.

Our Mission

Rooted in our faith and through partnership with the community, we strive to help everyone achieve economic stability by promoting food security, growing financial capacity, and building resilient communities.

Core Values

Community: We are all interconnected. My ability to thrive is linked to yours. We believe that our communities will be successful as we learn to live in peace with one another, support one another, and lift up one another. Every member of our community is important, created with inherent dignity, and worthy of our utmost respect.

Cooperation: We believe in partnership, and are committed to working with every member of our community to better the lives of the residents of Haywood County and the surrounding WNC areas. We cooperate with communities of faith, nonprofits, government agencies, businesses, and individuals in the community so that everyone has a voice and so that everyone’s life is improved.

Faith: HCM was founded by churches as a call to respond compassionately to their neighbors out of our shared faith. Our faith leads us to action on behalf of our neighbors as we love God, love neighbor, and live with integrity.

Inclusion: We believe that every person should have a seat at the table. At HCM we do not discriminate on the basis of race, national or ethnic origin, color, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital or family status, veteran status, disability or any other characteristics.

Environment: Our human communities cannot be separated from the environment in which we live. We are committed to minimizing our impact on the environment, and we continually seek opportunities to improve our waste reduction, emission reduction and energy efficiency; while promoting sustainable practices both internally and externally in the community.
